Packaged treatment plants forum has new leader

Andrew Baird, technical director for wastewater treatment specialist WPL, is the new convenor of the British Water Packaged Treatment Plant Forum.

It advises on standards and regulation, lobbying on the industry’s behalf for unified standards and improved training.
Baird, who has 27 years experience in the water industry, commented: “Over the next year British Water will be producing a new Flows & Loads guide – which is the industry bible for packaged plants. We will also be working on an approved code of practice for members.”
CEO of British Water Ashley Roe said he was “delighted” to have someone with Baird’s experience in the role. “British Water technical groups bring together industry experts in order to set standards and improve guidelines and can have a strong role in advising both the UK and European governments about regulatory changes.
