THE annual expo and conference of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) comes to the NEC on 1-2 July, with over 250 exhibitors and what looks to be an impressively comprehensive conference and seminar programme.
UK AD & Biogas is the UK’s only dedicated AD, biogas and bioresources trade show, and the event is said to have grown by 483% since it was launched in 2010. This year’s programme includes a two-day conference, on topics such as: “The political outlook for AD and the future of the industry”, “Where now for UK waste policy?”, “Should there be an AD on every farm?”, “Potential impact of the UK Bioenergy Strategy Review” and “How to maximise AD performance”.
Speakers include Chris Huhne, strategic advisor, ADBA; Guy Smith, vice president, NFU; David Kaner, CEO, Advanced Anaerobics; Tony Glover, Director of Policy, Energy Networks Association; Mark Linehan, managing director, Sustainable Restaurant Association; Ray Nattrass, head of process design and engineering, Shanks Waste Management; and Neil Grundon, deputy chairman, Grundon Waste Management.
There will also be an extensive seminar programme, with 22 sessions looking at topics related to operational performance, the food and drink sector, feedstock separation and large-scale biomass.
Other highlights of the ADBA event include an R&D hub, one-to-one advice clinics, a biomethane vehicle area with working examples of vehicles, and the ceremony for the annual UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards 2015. There will also be a site visit on 30 June to Severn Trent Green Power Coleshill.
The R&D Hub was introduced at the 2014 event and will act as a focal point for those interested in new research, on topics like biochemical R&D, life cycle analysis, conservation biomass, AD optimisation and efficiency.
The biomethane area will showcase vehicles including DHL’s new compressed natural gas (CNG) concept truck.
One-to-one advice clinics will provide access to experts offering guidance on a range of AD issues, from FIT to farming, legal aspects to operational performance. All content on the floor show at UK AD & Biogas 2015 is free to attend, including the conference.
