RUGGED Mobile Systems has announced an all-in-one, in-vehicle computer with touchscreen display and telematics support that runs Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems.
The Nexcom VMC 1000 features built in GPS navigation, a choice of wireless communication options and a direct link to vehicle telematics using its onboard CANbus interface. The company said the compact dimensions make it ideal for commercial and local authority fleet applications for refuse collectors and heavy-duty off-road equipment.
“The VMC 1000 has been designed to provide a fully functional, powerful, integrated rugged in-cab computing and telematics solution at a competitive price,” said Ges Jones, director of Rugged Mobile Systems. “The small form factor makes it ideal for a wide range of vehicle applications, particularly where space is restricted.”
