A solar PV company more than doubled its target last year in its first year of UK trading. Enfinity UK supplied 6.5MW of systems against its 3MW target.
The results are against a backdrop of the Belgian-owned Enfinity Group increasing installed capacity by 200MW in 2011, reaching 390MW total installed PV to date.
Enfinity UK, which is based in Corsham, Wiltshire, has now supplied some 4MW of solar PV into the residential and commercial markets, as well as supplying PV modules, inverters and associated equipment to more than 2,500 social housing installations.
Although it has been a challenging year for the UK solar industry with the numerous changes in Feed-In Tariffs over the last six months, Enfinity remains confident for the future, as Martin Allman, Enfinity UK trade manager, explained: “The UK market is in a period of consolidation and at Enfinity we feel we are in a strong position as a mature solar company. We already have partnerships with Graham and Jewson in the merchant market and are continuing to expand our network of installer partners throughout the UK.
“With solar PV system costs adjusting to the new tariff rates, the technology continues to be an excellent investment for both the private and public sector.”
