THE joint venture working on Yorkshire Water’s infrastructure investment programme as part of the AMP5 framework has landed a top accolade.
Barhale WSP was awarded the Chief Executive’s Award at the water company’s annual ‘prize giving’ for its work on the St Pegs flood alleviation scheme in Cleckheaton.
The £2.5m project, which took nine months to complete, prevented internal flooding of around 30 properties and included more than 1km of new drainage and repairs to the existing network. Barhale WSP was acknowledged for its approach to customer care and was commended for its alliances with the Environment Agency and Kirklees Council. It also achieved an ‘excellent’ score on the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme which assesses construction sites against a code of practice.
