New CPD seminar explains SuDS

The Concrete Pipeline Systems Association (CPSA) has a new, independently-certified CPD presentation on the topical issue of surface water management.

Under the Flood and Water Management Act, responsibility in England for the management of surface water run-off is expected to change in April 2014 with the introduction of statutory Standards and Guidance on the implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). This will have huge implications for developers, planning departments and county / unitary authorities as well as engineers working on surface water drainage systems.
The free CPSA seminar provides an introduction to the legislation while also reviewing the background leading to these changes. It then goes on to outline appropriate solutions using a range of alternative SuDS components and systems.

New CPD seminar explains SuDS

Stuart Crisp, Business Development Director of CPSA, is confident that this is the right time to be promoting this information: “Although the Act is not due to come into effect in England until probably the spring of 2014 we know that some areas are already starting to work to its requirements. If the industry is not up to speed with the changes then we risk key developments being severely delayed while the necessary SuDS details are put in place.”
The CPD presentation “Surface Water Management Using Proprietary Precast Concrete SuDS Systems” is certified by CPD UK and CIWEM and will be available from August 2013. It is aimed at all groups involved in the design, construction and adoption of SuDS systems.
