A seminar at November’s Resilience 14 conference will highlight the latest thinking on flood issues. The session “Britain under water” will be headed by a keynote address from Graham Saunders of the Red Cross, speakers include representatives from DEFRA, UNESCO-IHE, BACA Architects and AXA Insurance UK.
The University of the West of England’s Jessica Lamond will present on the case for resilient repair. He said: “I decided to speak at the event in order to share the experience in Cyprus with floods and the new technology developed for self-operating flip-up flood barriers.”
Topics will include incentivising flood-resilient behaviour and flood-resilient construction. It takes place at BRE, Watford on 26 November.
