A recently completed project by HUBER Technology for Severn Trent Water and delivery partner Costain CiM6 at Stratford Milcote sewage treatment works seemingly saved Severn Trent Water 40% in capital cost as well as reducing their operational costs by over 20%.
The innovative package plant solution combines the S-DISC 1 sludge thickener, flocc reactor, polyrex 1.0 dosing unit and discharge pump which are all installed onto a 5m x 2m skid. All the wiring, cable routes, cable ducts and mechanical pipework have been designed and installed onto the skid enabling this to become a plug & play solution.
In October 2017 Steve Czapski, CiM6 Site Agent entered the whole concept into an award for the CiM6 Severn Trent Water Innovation Scheme. The Stratford Disc thickener package plant subsequently won the CiM6 Q4 innovation award. The project has also seen the firm shortlisted as a finalist in WWT Magazine’s Water Industry Awards 2018.
Mike Willis and Dan Thomas from HUBER commented:
”With offsite fabrication using integrated 3D design to drive efficiency and our standard unique S-DISC product, we have been able to provide an all in one skid mounted package product to Stratford Milcote STW.
