A Strautmann BaleTainer, recently installed at the IKEA site in Gateshead, is “outperforming all expectations”. Supplied and installed by Jarshire Ltd, the baler is the first of a series to be installed at IKEA stores throughout the UK. Gateshead Recovery Department Manager, Stephen Faddy, reports that it is handling waste very well and currently saving on average 30 hours per week compared to the previous baler. Mr Faddy adds: “We now have a solution for baling cardboard, and have gained extra income in the process.”
