A planning application has been submitted for a combined heat and power plant in Northamptonshire to provide energy for homes and businesses.
Origin Renewable Energy wants to build the energy centre at Magnetic Park in Desborough. The facility will convert non-hazardous black bag rubbish into heat and power and offer an alternative to gas.
The 96,000 tonne plant will use a process known as ‘gasification’. It will include a visitors centre for training and education.
