E-waste represents one of the fastest-growing sectors by volume in the global waste industry and coupled with impending legislative targets should create high levels of business across the value chain said Frost & Sullivan in its analysis of the world market. The global WEEE recycling services market was estimated at $1,424m in 2011 and is expected to grow to $1,869m in 2017 with a strong Compound Annual Growth Rate of 4%.
The global economic slowdown affected the WEEE recycling market in as much as the prices of materials such as steel and plastics went into steady decline, as did tonnages of e-waste in the market.
