FIVE new award categories have been added to the Environment and Energy Awards, the sustainability scheme for the corporate sector.
The winners will be announced as part of Sustainability Live 2013 and the new categories are:
Innovative Energy Efficient Project Award
Utility Supplier of the Year
Innovative Water Product/Service of the Year
Innovation Award for Energy from Waste
Best Example of Community Engagement in Energy from Waste
“Celebrating excellence and innovation, the Environment and Energy Awards have established themselves as one of the highest levels of attainment within the environmental sector and are fiercely contested by businesses and organisations of all sizes,” said an organisers’ spokesman.
Previous winners have include The Eden Project, B&Q, EnerNOC, The Alumet Group, Alliance Boots, Phoenix Supply, Tube Lines, Gloucestershire County Council & Atkins, Best Foot Forward, Molson Coors Brewing Company, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets and Anglian Water.
Martin Fry of ESTA who chairs the judging panel, said: “The Environment and Energy Awards are an important event in the calendar reflecting the achievements of organisations in sustainable development, projects and innovations.
“The addition of five new awards recognises the increased value and contribution of organisations and the supply chain to addressing corporate sustainability challenges.”
Entries for the awards closed in December and the winners will be announced at a gala event at the National Motorcycle Museum on Tuesday April 16.
