Repic, the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) producer compliance scheme, has appointed a new business development manager.
Michelle Wass joins the team to work with local authorities to offer guidance on WEEE recycling and make it easier for councils to manage the waste. CEO Philip Morton said: “Michelle’s role is one that will grow in importance over coming months as we approach a period of radical change for the WEEE system in the UK.
“The WEEE Recast is currently in the process of being transposed into national law and consultations are underway to decide on the most suitable WEEE system for the UK. Any changes to the current system could affect the way local authorities collect and dispose of WEEE, making it more important than ever for organisations to have good, direct relationships with their PCSs, to help them to make a smooth transition to a new system.”
