707 celebrates 5-year anniversary with record growth and expansion plan

Yorkshire-based national waste and recycling company, 707, is marking its fifth anniversary this summer with a head office expansion.

Founded in July 2009, 707 was inspired by Live Aid doing good for the world; and began with a three-man team with a mission to become the most ethical, environmentally-friendly and customer-focused business in the UK.
Five years later, the company delivers waste solutions for the NHS, Brittania Hotels and Dairy Crest, as well as thousands of SMEs in the office, retail, clinical and hospitality sectors. The now 34-strong team has succeeded in achieving a £6.5 million turnover whilst helping businesses reach their goals of zero waste to landfill.
Managing Director, David Adams, said: “We’re over the moon to be celebrating 707’s fifth birthday at such an exciting time of business growth. I’m really proud of the team we’ve developed and I’m really excited that we still have so much potential for expansion.
“We have an expansion plan that will see the business double in size in the next five years and a target turnover of £13 million. We will continue to invest in businesses and the industry, with the hope of having a louder voice to shape how we recycle.”
With a belief that “zero landfill” is a realistic goal, 707 harness innovative technologies to provide cost-effective, integrated waste collection and recycling services. They reduce costs through encouraging recycling, waste minimisation and transport efficiency.
“The next biggest challenge for our industry is changing people’s perception about waste. We need to truly look at waste products and packaging at the research and development stage and not at the point when it is thrown away,” said David.
“We will continue to give excellent service at a reasonable price and continue to promote waste as a resource, and not just something we put into the ground and forget about.”
