The FloodEx trade event will take place on 18 and 19 May in Peterborough Arena. Aimed at those working in flood defence and the water level management sector, the event organisers claim it is about looking at WLM holistically, drawing on presentations and ideas from many who believe an integrated approach is needed to safeguard the UK against the large-scale floods that look set to become a familiar fixture.
FloodEx 2016 will play host to the first FloodEx meeting of the European Union of Water Management Associations (EUWMA).
The first day of the conference will include a keynote presentation from Peter Simpson, CEO of Anglian Water, while there will also be a presentation entitled “Future Strategy for Water Level and Flood Risk Management” by Alison Baptiste, head of flood and coastal risk management with the Environment Agency. Day two features a showcase session from the Association of Drainage Authorities (ADA), the membership organisation for water level management authorities in the UK, with presenters including Innes Thomson, chief executive of ADA. Also on day two, Phil Winrow, head of FCRM finance with the EA will present on “Funding for Water Level Management”. Day three will include a presentation from James MacLean, MD of Land & Water, entitled “Trading in partnership with a client and community”.
