SLD Pumps and Power has announced the appointment of Phil McDevitt as its Technical Sales Manager for Scotland and the North of England.
McDevitt’s appointment is an internal promotion that the firm says recognises its strength and experience, and ongoing expansion, and its ability to develop its own workforce. He began his career with the company as a staff apprentice and gained experience of almost every role in the company including depot manager.
He has worked as a ’trouble-shooter’ at most of the company’s Scottish branches and has experience in the widest possible range of market sectors including construction, civil engineering, mining, aggregates, marine, utilities, manufacturing and leisure.
McDevitt had, most recently, held area and regional sales roles within Scotland but, as an engineer first and foremost, is now acknowledged as a technical specialist for the whole northern division. He will play a key part in supporting highly complex large scale projects that are rapidly becoming the company’s area of specialism alongside its regionally distributed depot-based hire fleet business.
