The five short-listed finalists for the UK Best Recycled Plastics Product Award 2017 have been announced by recycling charity Recoup. They are:
• Fishy Filaments, 3D printing filament from plastic fishing nets
• Marmax, Recycled Plastic Buddy Bench
• Axion Polymers & 1ENV Solutions, Rotech® Bullet bait box
• Recycling Technologies, Plaxx
• Hahn Plastics, hanit® Ultra Ecocrib Wall Plastic
The winner will be announced at the Plastics Industry Awards dinner at The London Hilton on 27 October 2017.
Recoup’s CEO Stuart Foster said: “We recognise the importance of awards such as this to demonstrate that plastic is a circular resource – something that is increasingly critical to the future success of this industry. We know that consumers are inspired to recycle when they see the high quality of products that are made from recycled plastics. Understanding just what an item of plastic can become when recycled helps to stimulate recycling levels and the demand and appetite for the design and manufacture of such products.”
The short-listed entries will be displayed at the RECOUP Conference, on 28 September 2017 at KingsGate Conference Centre, Peterborough. The delegates, from all sectors of the supply chain including the recycling industry, packaging industry and retail sector, will decide the winner via a one-delegate-one-vote system.
