Veolia Water Technologies launched an initiative called Rethink Water on 6 October, intended to showcase the company as a key thought leader in water management.
The firm says the initiative provides a “broad perspective” and “encourages industries to change how they see water and wastewater, and evaluate how they can reduce, recycle and reuse wastewater, as well as thinking of innovative ways to recover by-products from a process to be used as an energy resource”.
An accompanying white paper is said to provide “a concise, easy-to-read introduction to how companies can reassess their views, and benefit from the potential financial savings offered by adopting a more informed approach towards treating wastewater”.
“When it comes to water, there is a perception that sewer discharge costs nothing and there is little you can do with wastewater once it has been treated and cleaned in line with industry regulations,” says an introductory section of the white paper. “Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth, and businesses need to change how they see water.”
The white paper goes onto provide industry-specific case studies, and makes the case for the company’s technology, that it can deliver improvements in areas like profitability and improved water use.
Veolia claims it is ideally placed to advise industry, thanks to its years of experience working with customers to deliver water saving solutions across a range of sectors, from pharmaceuticals and food to energy and power.
