Entrepreneurs to pitch game-changing technologies at London event

Applications have opened for entrepreneurs with game-changing technologies to pitch to investors at Cleantech Innovate, an annual showcase event for innovative clean technologies.

The event, which will take place on 30 April at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London, aims to connect the most promising environmental technologies that will “accelerate results for a more sustainable future” with investors looking for a good return.

A range of shortlisted entrepreneurs will pitch their technologies to a room full of investors in a series of themed sessions covering energy, food, transport, water, waste, and shelter. The event will also feature workshops designed to support cleantech entrepreneurs looking to grow their business and will close with the presentation of the ‘Game-Changer Prize’, which will recognise the technology with the greatest potential to have a revolutionary impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and/or improving resource use worldwide.

Over 500 delegates are expected to attend the Cleantech Innovate, now in its seventh year. The event partners include the Mayor of London European Regional Development Fund, Innovate UK, and Imperial College London’s Grantham Institute.

Entrepreneurs have until 12th March to submit their entries to pitch at the event, which will be put forward for shortlisting by an expert panel.

Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of We Are Orchard, who manage the event, said:

“The need to act fast on climate issues is becoming acutely apparent. The potential for the cleantech community to crack these global challenges is evident and the mission of Cleantech Innovate is to support game-changing ideas and generate a positive impact for a sustainable future.

“Cleantech Innovate 2019 will showcase technologies with true potential from seed stage onwards, and this year’s event will focus on providing opportunities to entrepreneurs from a more diverse range of backgrounds.

“We’re also introducing a new open venue layout designed to bring delegates to one dynamic space featuring two pitching areas, two presentation suites, innovation stands, a connectivity lounge, and places to meet.

“We’re hoping to discover the next generation of game-changing technologies that can really make a positive impact on climate change and connect them up with the investors who can take their concepts to the next level.”
