The finalists for the 2023 AD and Biogas Industry Awards have been announced. Run by the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA), the Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the global anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas sector across 12 categories.

Chris Huhne, ADBA chairman, said: “It’s always a great moment to announce the finalists of our annual AD & Biogas Industry Awards as it marks a crescendo in the competition to acknowledge excellence in our industry and gets people excited about the Awards ceremony. Everyone is so deserving, which is why it’s a tough job for the judges to narrow down the potential winners and we thank them for their work. Congratulations to those who’ve made the cut, and best of luck for the final.”

“As always the quality of entries is very high” added Charlotte Morton, WBA Chief Executive, “and we’re particularly pleased to see their geographical diversity. Whilst there’s an historical legacy of a majority of UK competitors,1 it’s great to welcome finalists from countries such as Israel, Angola, Zimbabwe, India, Turkey, Brazil and the USA alongside European nations. This reflects the growth of the industry on a global scale.

We’re also very pleased to see the outcome of our new Education Campaign of the Year category, and its international reach. It bears testimony to the importance of education in the development of our industry in every part of the world. Good luck to our finalists and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the Awards ceremony next month”.

The winners will be announced at a prestigious gala ceremony on 29th March 2023 at the Vox in Birmingham, UK.
