Two-way flow on response ability

OIL Spill Response Ltd (OSRL), the international oil spill emergency response organisation, has signed a memorandum of understanding to deliver services to mutual clients in Turkey and increase capability in the country.
The agreement with Meke Marine Environmental Protection Services will see both parties working to establish a framework for “a co-operative and seamless two-way flow” of oil spill preparedness and response resources.
OSRL chief executive Archie Smith said: “We are a global company with a strong regional focus and the formation of strategic partnerships like this is consistent with our mission to further develop and improve preparedness and response capability around the world.”
Kerem Kemerli, general manager of Meke Group, said he anticipated that clients in the area will benefit significantly from the improved access to response and preparedness services.
OSRL is an industry-owned co-operative and believed to be the world’s biggest provider of oil spill response services. It is also involved also in training, consultancy and other support services to help minimise the effect of spills. The company operates from offices in the UK, Bahrain, Singapore, Africa, America and Indonesia and its membership represents companies accounting for more than 60% of global oil production.
